Volkswagen ID Buzz Review
2021 Volkswagen ID Buzz Overview
Did you know that Volkswagen was reviving its iconic VW bus and reimagining it as an all-electric vehicle? Named the Volkswagen ID Buzz, this Volkswagen electric concept vehicle was originally introduced in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show in 2017. The original goal was to launch in the United States in 2021 for the 2022 model year, but global challenges required Volkswagen to reprioritize and aim for the 2023 model year instead. The ID Buzz is generating a lot of excitement. We field new questions on a daily basis and present this early Volkswagen ID Buzz review in the hopes of answering what we can. Be mindful that most details are not finalized and still subject to change.

Exterior – Volkswagen Dealer serving San Antonio TX
The stunning exterior design initially revealed with the concept model has not changed much. The inspiration of the classic VW bus in the Volkswagen ID Buzz is clearly visible, but the curvature of the body and wheel designs are not just modern but futuristic even. The wheelbase is 129.9 inches. The overall length is 194.6 inches. Height and width are 77.3 and 77.8 inches, respectively, and the standard wheels will be 20-inch aluminum-alloy.

Interior – 2021 Volkswagen ID Buzz in San Antonio TX
The interior design is described as cavernous. With three rows of seating in use, the vehicle offers 23.3 cubic feet of cargo space. Total available cargo space is 162.5 cubic feet. The vehicle will also have a front trunk—or frunk—that measures 6.1 cubic feet. The interior is also designed for flexibility. Seats can be removed. They can be folded flush, and they can be spun around 360 degrees and locked in place. One of the most common questions that motivated this Volkswagen ID Buzz review concerns which trim levels will be offered. While Volkswagen has not announced trims, it has revealed that the ID Buzz will be offered in two core configurations: passenger and cargo. The passenger edition will have three rows and presumably seat up to nine while still offering an ample amount of dedicated cargo space. The cargo edition will be available with just one or two rows of seating and presumably with a front passenger seat delete option.

Volkswagen ID Buzz Mechanical specs
The all-electric powertrain will provide up to 340 miles of range on a single charge. All-wheel drive is standard with the passenger model, and that setup features an electric motor on both the front and rear axle. Volkswagen currently estimates about 370 horsepower. The ID Buzz Cargo will be rear-wheel drive standard and have a 201-horsepower motor on the rear axle. All-wheel drive will be optional.

Technology – Volkswagen Dealership in San Antonio TX
Volkswagen has made it clear since the introduction of the concept model that it intends the ID Buzz to be one of its most technologically advanced vehicles. We know so far that it will have the latest Car-Net software and a large central infotainment touchscreen. Standard features include Bluetooth, Android and Apple device integration, Wi-Fi hotspot and USB charging ports in all three rows.
